High Season availability of the 6 individual deeded weeks – five are “Red” weeks, which is high season for this resort running generally from the middle of December to the end of May. The 6th week is a “White” week, for use starting at the end of May through the 1st half of July and then from September to mid- December. Also included are 1,000 Marriott points for additional stays at any Marriott, Sheraton or Westin resort good for any time of the year.
Desert Springs Villas (DSV) is located on a 400-acre property that also contains a second resort along with a gorgeous JW Marriott hotel. A free shuttle bus runs constantly through the day and evening between the 2 resorts and the hotel. The grounds encompass two 18-hole golf courses and the hotel has tennis courts, a huge swimming pool and a spa. DSV owners have limited access privileges to those facilities. Most of the buildings in the 2 resorts face out into fairways from the outdoor decks of the units.
The units are all 2 bedrooms each with their own TVs, 2 bathrooms with jacuzzi/whirlpool tubs, full kitchens and washer/dryers. The living room has a sofa bed, a large TV and a fireplace. The large outdoor deck is accessible from the master bedroom and the living room. The full unit sleeps 8. The units are divisible into two separate units with separate entry doors.
Each one sleeps 4. The large one-bedroom master suite has a large King bed, a luxurious 2-room bathroom, kitchen and a living room with queen size sofa bed. The other unit is a ‘Studio unit’ that has a kitchenette with a floor-to-ceiling refrigerator, 2-room bathroom with a 2-person jacuzzi bathtub, separate shower and with 2 queen-sized beds.
Because of the separate entries to the “Master” unit or to the “Studio” unit, each 2 bedroom unit can be divided into two separate reservation confirmations, each sleeping 4 persons.
The resort has 3 swimming pools with jacuzzies, a fitness center, BBQs all over the place, large rec rooms for kids, miniature golf course, movie theatre, bicycle rentals and a basketball court. There is also a convenience store.
Additionally, all the amenities at the other resort nearby on the 400-acre property, (known as Desert Springs Villas II) including its 4 pools are available to owners and guests of Desert Springs Villas. Hence, a visitor has 7 swimming pools to choose from along with 2 fitness centers.
It is a short 10-minute drive to downtown Palm Desert with its chic shops, dozens of bars and restaurants – some with nighttime dancing, then a 25-minute drive down the famous Highway 111 to Palm Springs and then another 20 minutes to a casino located next door to a large outlet mall. A large grocery store is just minutes up the street from the resort.
